Button Hole Kid Juliet Vongphoumy Captures 2010 New England Junior PGA Championship

Button Hole Kid Juliet Vongphoumy won the 2010 New England Junior PGA Championship Wednesday – Thursday, July 7- 8 at Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, MA.

Vongphoumy, 16, had a final-round 78 for a two-day total of 147 and a 7-stroke victory over Karolyne Shieh of Carlisle, MA. By winning the girls’ divisions Vongphoumy now qualifies for the 35th Junior PGA Championship, Aug. 2-5, 2010, at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Junior PGA Championship has traditionally been a stepping-stone for many of today’s PGA and LPGA Tour professionals as well as current collegiate stars.
