June 11th, 2012 Point Judith Fundraising Tournament

“Because of you…” was the theme for the day on June 11 as Button Hole celebrated its first decade of accomplishment with The Button Hole Invitational Tournament and Dinner held at Point Judith Country Club.  Joined on the course by Rhode Island Professional Brad Faxon, who together with Billy Andrade has been a champion for Button Hole since its founding, some of Rhode Island’s most avid golfers enjoyed the superb conditions of one of Rhode Island’s most spectacular golf courses.

A special feature of the tournament was an interclub competition for the Button Hole Invitational Cup, won by the competing team from Point Judith.  In addition, tournament golfers were joined on the tees by Button Hole alumni, Seamus Fennelly and Samantha Morrell, both now competing on the Division I level.

Following the presentation of a new Button Hole video highlighting the important role Button Hole plays in the community, David Fay, former executive director of the USGA, was the featured dinner speaker.

Honorary Chairs of the tournament were Liz Chace and Ed Mauro, Button Hole founder.  Co=chaired by Kevin Hunt and Jim Rosati, sponsors included presenting sponsors Picerne Military Housing and Eleven Forty Nine Restaurant Group; the Ryan Family Charitable Foundation; Providence Journal; The Murray Family Charitable Foundation; AT&T; Decof & Decof; BMW of Warwick; Adler Pollock & Sheehan; Matunuck Oyster Bar; Jon Giles, William P. Egan; and Warby Parker Eyewear.  Nortek was the dinner sponsor.
